The Louisiana Mortgage Lenders Association (LMLA) is a full-time statewide organization devoted exclusively to the field of mortgage and real estate finance. The Association actively promotes the interests of the mortgage lending industry through the work of its committee system, Board of Governors and direct involvement in the community. Through the collective voice of the Association, LMLA is dedicated to improving business operating conditions and to solving industry-wide problems. |

Mike Anderson Honored as NAMB Broker of the Year
Mike Anderson, CRMS was awarded 2010 NAMB Broker of the Year at the Mid-Year Meeting in Phoenix, Arizona. Broker of the Year is NAMB’s most prestigious award. The selection criteria includes commitment to community involvement, quality service and high ethics. Each year NAMB presents the award to a professional broker who most embodies the Association’s ideals and principals.
Anderson is a 30 year veteran of the mortgage industry. He is the president of Essential Mortgage, a Latter & Blum company and is a former president of the Louisiana Mortgage Lenders Association. Anderson has been active within NAMB, serving as Chairman of the NAMBPAC and Government Affairs Committee, and sits on the NAMB Board of Directors. |

LEGISLATIVE UPDATE!
May 20, 2010 the Senate passed S. 3217, the "Restoring American Financial Stability Act of 2010," by a vote of 59-39, sending it to Conference Committee, where members of both chambers of Congress will work to reconcile this bill and House passed bill H.R. 4173, the "Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2009."
